October 2000 > June 2001.
- Primary role was the development of a new PeopleSoft module - Financials for French Public Sector. Most of my work involved adding functionality to the generic Public Sector AP/PO module. This included adding Differé avec Contra-Passation (ie, refusing a PO, withdrawing the budget impact, and then keeping the PO open for modification and re-submission), Devise (Currency definition), Adding PO style comments management to the Dossier de Liquidation (Voucher) panels, adding a PeopleCode based Voucher Copy process and a number of bug investigations. The work, due to it being a development of PeopleSoft product had to be of a high standard to match PeopleSoft’s more recent development standards, was multi-platform and designed with ultimate flexibility and with a view to future development and customization.
- Assisted in the implementation of the above system within the Ministry of Finance.
- Using an advanced style of optimisation, improved the performance of some SQRs to reduce run times by 95%.
- Most bug reports, specifications and team meetings were held in French - giving me a new challenge of working in a foreign language.
Major Charity, Central England
March 2000 > September 2000.
- PeopleSoft Financials and Distribution development and support. This system had recently gone live when I started.
- Debugged, analysed and corrected a range of problems with the in-house developed PeopleSoft module - Shop Accounting System. This module took data from the charity’s 800 shops, processed it, and loaded the General Ledger. Significant levels of analysis were required in order to produce functional documentation and to correct the problems within the system. A re-write of some sections was required. The solution has since worked reliably.
- Applied patches, carried out performance enhancement, and was involved in critical user support - an important role in an organisation which often has to carry out flexible and difficult distribution projects.
- Developed a number of data analysis and interfacing SQRs.

Credit Bank, Northern England.
February 1999 > October 1999.
- This site was in the process of exploiting and enhancing their current PeopleSoft HR v6 implementation.
- A high level of autonomy in this role allowed me to take projects through from inception to completion, including dealing with senior management and users.
- Created a search panel which allowed the user to find employees with only vague information, for example, a mistyped name, city or address would still produce a match.
- Carried out the business analysis, design and development, and implementation of a system to manage the bank’s complex benefits packages. This included report production such as P11ds and accounting interfaces.
Distillers, Scotland.
January 1999 > February 1999.
- A short contract due to having already been booked to work at Capital Bank.
- The key task involved developing a sophisticated SQR based interface between PeopleSoft Asset Management and Chivas’ own Warehouse Management System. The interface allowed the users full control of data transfers which could be restarted, rerun and rescheduled as necessary without having to manage data files individually. This resulted in a highly robust interface in spite of transferring data over an FTP based system.
Newspaper Publishers, London, England.
June 1998 > December 1998.
- Provided technical lead to the implementation team, reviewing development specifications and change requests.
- Development of new panels and customisation, working closely with business analysts.
- Hired directly by the Finance Department in order to provide a third party between the team of consultants (KPMG) and the internal IT department.
